Why make a documentary about the Evo‑One?

As far as we know, nothing like the Evo-One has ever been attempted before. We managed to go from the very first drunken idea, “We should take the boys to China to play volleyball,” to a full-fledged international volleyball tournament in just four insane months. And once we got closer to the date, it occurred to us – this is a big freaking deal. These American kids don’t know anything more about China than mall Chinese food and the stereotypes they’d heard all their lives. We knew this trip was going to change their lives and outlooks forever, and we had to get it on film.
